About Isabella…

Isabella Cole

Isabella Cole is a survivor of a necrotizing fasciitis or flesh eating infection that resulted in the removal of muscle and tissue in her right back and right leg.

She spent 2 months at Pittsburgh’s Children’s Hospital and one month at the Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati. Her prognosis in the beginning of her intensive care stay was very poor. We were given little hope of her survival.

During this time the doctors were uncertain if they would be able to save her right leg from amputation.

Isabella did survive and she did not lose her leg. The Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati provided skin grafting by amazing doctors and rehabilitation that had Isabella walking again very quickly.

Today, at the age of 8 Isabella is a very happy and outgoing child who just completed reconstructive surgery on her back. The surgery was again provided at no cost by the Cincinnati Shriners Hospital. The Shriners hospitals are funded by your contributions.
